Ocean floor dining in Burntcoat Head Park, Nova Scotia

Eric and Corey, a transgender father and daughter travel from Southern Michigan to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. They fish for lobster, call to seals, dance a jig and, most importantly find the acceptance they are seeking.

Burntcoat Head, Nova Scotia is home of the world’s highest recorded tides. In the evening, when the tide is slowly coming back in, Jennifer Nicols of Flying Apron welcomes guests to a unique dining experience.

Corey and Eric are about to experience a feast on the ocean floor. Chef Chris Velds prepares a meal of butter-poached lobster, pasture raised beef tenderloin, and succotash. During the meal, guests are encouraged to toss their clamshells into buckets in front of them, on the beach.

Eric and Corey meet some amazing people over dinner who are welcoming and warm hearted. At Burntcoat Head Park, this is a unique dining experience where people can make friends over dinner, and dance on the beach at sunset, all before the tide washes over the ocean floor.
